“Talk – Nude As Art”
By Sophirat Muangkum
Sunday, 25 October 20261:00–4:00 PMAt Old Town Gallery
Nude photography is not simply about depicting the human body. It also involves perspective, concepts, communication, and the relationship between the photographer and the model, as well as how the work is presented in a way that clearly communicates the artist’s identity and ideas.
Nude As Art is a talk based on the professional experience of Sophirat Muangkum, a Thai female photographer and artist who has worked continuously in the field of nude photography. The talk covers a wide range of topics, from understanding different approaches and genres of nude photography, finding inspiration, and preparing for a shoot, to communication and collaboration with models and other members of the production team.
It will also explore practical aspects of working professionally, including documentation and releases, building a portfolio, and approaches to presenting and publishing photographic work.
The talk aims to encourage participants to look at nude photography from a broader perspective, encompassing the creative process, professional practice, and the development of their own artistic work.
The session will conclude with a Q&A and Portfolio Review. Participants who would like feedback on their own work are welcome to bring their portfolios and discuss them with the speaker after the Q&A session.
Who is this for?
This talk is suitable for anyone interested in nude photography from an artistic perspective, as well as photographers who are beginning to work in the field of nude photography and would like to learn more about the creative and professional process, while receiving guidance on developing and presenting their own portfolios.
This event is part of the exhibition “Bangkok Raw” by Alain Callebaut, organized by Old Town Gallery.
