Nothing lasts forever | จีรัง “Nothing in this world is eternal. Happiness comes from accepting change.” It is undeniable that on standard human basis, we all like to judge, both thought and views. This results in separation in the society, whether its the apparel, beauty, or even sexual orientation. And what the majority agrees would often become acceptable that it is ‘Right’ It wouldn’t be disastrous if it doesn’t hurt the heart of the minority, or even leads to lack of the will to live, because they don’t see what they are worth. The photo set “Nothing Lasts Forever” Is a photoset that I have experienced from talking to my model that I asked for the permission to tell his story, through the beginning, obstacles, until getting accepted from family, friends, society, or even lover. Because I want this photo set to communicate to both the society that is compared to the outsider looking in, who can give chance, encouragement, and acceptance in other’s changes, no matter it is appearance, or gender preference, and on the other hand, those who are in the same situation, I’d like them to realize that in our lives, there is always change. What matters is that we choose to drown in the problem and be depressed or we choose to keep walking through those obstacles and become happy with our lives. Because what I believe is that “Happiness comes from accepting change and not linger on what create misery.” -Sophirat Muangkam- “Discrimination is inevitable. Looking at it negatively, it’ll be negative to us, but if we look at it positively, it gives you power, and pressure. It makes us rise higher than them, it’s a great motivation. We have to distinguish discrimination in the right context, not just looking down on beauty, and nonsensical topics. It’s time to wake up. It should be the time to look down on skills, whether you’re talented or not. We can’t judge that all discrimination is bad, that is not right, but there are different type of discrimination ……………………………….. We all have our duty and we should take responsible for our life first.” -Savin Saima- _______________________________________ Photograph and concept: Sophirat Muangkam Model: Mr. Pongsan Plengsangsri and Mr. Savin Saima Story and stylist: Savin Saima
